1.5 - 2.0 You could describe yourself as a beginner. You know how to serve and return points but you haven’t developed any tennis game consistency. You hopefully have figured how to keep score. You basically enjoy the game and want to meet up with other people who have the same love.
2.5 Needs on-court tennis experience. Has obvious stroke weaknesses but is use to with basic positions for singles and doubles play. 2.5 Learning to judge where the ball is going although tennis court coverage is weak. Can sustain a little rally of easy pace with other tennis players of the same ability.
3.0 Reasonably consistent when hitting medium-paced strokes, but isn’t comfortable with all strokes and lacks execution when trying for directing control, depth or might.

4.5 Starting to master the use of power and spins and beginning to handle pace, has solid footwork, can control depth of shots and is beginning to vary game plan according to opponents. Can hit first serves with power and accuracy and place the second serve. Tends to over hit on difficult tennis shots.
